Face Painting at Timbre@Gillman

Face painting? YUP! You heard me right. We have always been creating with felt and from our 1st fringe activity with Timbre, we were asked if we could do face painting. Hmmmm....

Despite the anxiety and nervousness, we made it through the day till 9pm. The face painting started at 6pm and well lasted till 9pm with no break in between with painting the faces of beautiful girls and boys for the private birthday party. *birthday boy is 13 years old - can sing so well and is a fine gentleman *

As you can imagine, we have no opportunity at all to snap any pictures as soon as the party started so here's like 2 pictures that I took of Aisah and one of me, or the girl i was painting actually. Oh and the other 2 of this sweet french girl, Mia Chambat, who had her arm painted and of course the picture of us before it all began!! ;p

November Holidays Workshop

We are excited to tell you that we will be having a November Workshop for the holidays! You can now learn to make your own felt creations, accessories before Christmas, or just for your own personal interest. Either way, you will not be disappointed!

It is a 2.5 hours course conducted by me and my sister. You will be learning 5 different designs of our very own flowers. Isn't that exciting?! It may seem little but i ensure you that you will definitely learn a lot from the course. Learning the skills will provide you the head start before you can create your own felt creations for the festive seasons.

The training will happen at Peace Centre near Dhoby Ghaut. drinks will be provided and room will be air conditioned! Don't have to worry about fighting with the weather in Singapore!
You can also bring back a starter kit which is worth $60!

Video of ETSY Craft Party 2013

Remember our recent Craft Party during the June school holidays? When the skies were all grey and gloomy and not to mentioned - HAZY at 320 psi? YES that craft party!

Thanks to Aisah's lovely friends, Jerrica, Wan, Zaty and Dhivv for making time to take and make our pictures and video on that day.

A craft party is just that - a day that people of all ages come together to make and create. Teaching each other - the young and the old and the creative and the.. erm.. not so much creative juice in their hands ;p

I know that the kids who were present that day really enjoyed themselves. We also have a couple volunteers to help out with changing of the water for the batik painting. Thank you all lovely people for making the day a fun and exciting one.

Have you seen the craze on chalkboard recently? I soooo wished I have half the talent to draw and doodle like all those creative art chalkboards that are uber stunning!

Here's a lil dabbing into chalkboard.. we borrowed our niece's chalkboard easel and got doodle happy! Aisah's the one drawing of course! You can ask me to make something but cant ask me to draw anything! Im weird like that ;p

Highlights of the ETSY Craft Party

 The party begins!  20th June 2013 ETSY CRAFT PARTY

While Singapore was under a big cloud of grey haze from the forest fires in Sumatra, a group of us managed to sneak into a fun and colorful day on 20th June 2013.

Organised by Simply-4-Love sisters, we did some batik painting where everyone gets their own 9x12" piece to bring home and 2 big 30x45"pieces where we paint as a group.

We also did a felt collage garden where creativity makes a piece of green canvas spring to life with colors and shapes!

Indeed, we managed to celebrate the international day of meeting, making and crafting today!  

Through this day, we hope to increase the awareness of handmade in Singapore and at the same time, allow some creativity juices to develop in young children.

ETSY Craft Party 2013

I am so happy and honored to be able to organise the craft party for Singapore this year! 

When I saw online that Etsy is having a craft party this June, I knew I had to be a part of it and since there was no organiser for Singapore, I wrote the proposal to Etsy and got an approval from Etsy 30hrs later! Yay!! 

I am so glad that it is also the school holidays so it gave me for time to plan and that my eldest sister - who is a school teacher (and good with art and crafts!) is around to help us out! 

So.. we decided that we are going to have some batik painting and felt crafts. 

We needed at least 25 RSVPs for Etsy to send us a box of craft supplies. And guess what? We got over 30 RSVPs the next 36hrs!! Awesome!!

We have decided to come out with a wedding collection since we have been making alot of custom orders for boutonnières and corsages for weddings. 

Here is one design we could make for those bride-to-be who prefers something away from the traditional flower bouquets.

Project VA Tech Part1

What began from a humble-start-from-scratch home biz is finally going for an adventure. 

Simply-4-Love is my baby. I started it a couple years ago and did not focus on marketing cos of my limitations in production. But this weekend, my trusted representative in US will be meeting he marketing director of VA Tech to discuss possible contracts for our flower creation hair accessories. 

Please help to pray that all goes well and we secure this contract with VA Tech.

Handmade Rose Corsages and Boutonnieres for a Wedding Photoshoot

Lilac and Mauve .. 2 very sweet colors...Pastels...Made into a rose and paired as a corsage and a boutonniere.

Each of the rose is handmade and thanks to our bride-to-be customer; Atiqah for this gorgeous order. Each stem of the boutonniere is carefully wrapped in twine to create this classy and 'away-from-the-traditional' fresh flowers.

It makes us happy to think that a bride and groom and all their bridesmaids and bestman can wear these flowers and have them as keepsake forever! I have to commend Aisah for a job well done!
